April 2012 Shows Cancelled

Dear Friends and Fans,

I regret to say that the shows planned for this April 2012 have been cancelled.

Since I came back from Europe I have been struggling with my voice. Last Saturday’s gig in San Juan Cap was a vocal disaster.

I thought it was fatigue from the brutal schedule in Europe however the voice is getting worse and now I am having pain even speaking.

Today I went to my doctor in Beverly Hills. He is an ear, nose, and throat specialist.

I was concerned I may have nodes. 16 years ago I had nodes… twice… 2 separate surgeries.

Today he looked at me and it is very very bad news…. My Left vocal chord is hemorrhaged, bruised, and bleeding.

The bottom line is I need to be on total voice rest for the next 3 weeks. This means no singing and limited talking.

I explained I had gigs next week and he told me I am the only singer he ever treated that wanted to talk about doing shows with this condition.

He explained that by trying to sing in this condition I would likely ruin my voice for good.

I am very sorry but I must cancel all shows for April including April 28th in Redondo.

The doctor assured me that if I rest and follow his advice my voice will return back to normal within 3 weeks from now.

Those of you who purchased VIP tickets will be refunded through paypal.

East Coast Shows and Iridium Special Event!

Yo Peeps…

I think we have something very cool brewing here…

I just booked 3 nights in NYC at Iridium (The legendary club of Les Paul).

April 20th, 21st, and 22nd with a Long Island warm up show on the 17th at New York Ollies

as well as a show in Baltimore @’Sound Stage’ on April 18th.

I know this is a lot of New York/North East for Kotzen but we are planing on doing something very cool.

This idea was inspired by my buddy Eddie Trunk a few years back.

The plan is to feature a different cd performed front to back each night.

Night one will be a performance of the original Mother Head’s Family Reunion cd.

This will be a 90 minute show starting with the performance of the cd as well as other material from previous releases.

Night 2 will be a 2 set night. The first set will be a performance of ‘IntoThe Black’ from front to back.

Set 2 will be considered a separate show by the club and feature material from previous cd’s not including any of the songs from the 3 featured cd’s.

Night 3 will be a single 90 minute set starting with a performance of the latest cd ’24 Hours’ from front to back as well as other material not included in the

previous performances. Hopefully this all makes sense…. I am looking forward to bringing to life some of these songs that have yet to be performed live.

House Of Blues show MOVED to Paladino’s

Unfortunately due to a MAJOR mistake by Live Nation and House Of Blues LA my show at that venue was cancelled.
They canceled my show apparently because they ‘Double Booked’ the night. I was told a corporate event was being held
in the room that night and therefore my show was cancelled. They told me this 4 days before my show after they have been selling tickets on their site for well over a month. NIGHTMARE! BUT… the good news is I was able to secure a venue for the same night in Los Angeles county at a place called Paladino’s. It is located at 6101 reseda Blvd in Tarzana .
The release party will go down as planned on October 23rd at Paladino’s. VIP packages will be honored… For those who bought
standard tickets on line unfortunately those tickets will not be honored at this venue however Live Nation MUST refund those purchased tickets to you.
You will get your money back through Live Nation. Tickets for Paladino’s will be available at the door for $20.00.
Doors at 7pm 9:30 Showtime…. I am totally frustrated by this situation and never in a million years imagined this could happen… especially with a brand name like
House Of Blues. BUT…. The show must go on!

Cd Release Party and new single

Quick Update… New single ’24 Hours’ will be available for download in just a few days (Sept 1st). The music video for the song will be posted at AOL online as well as my official youtube channel (links will be posted here). … AND… we are planning an official cd release party in Los Angeles late October (prior to the official cd release date). The full cd will be available for sale at the cd release party. Show date will be announced very soon.

Hello Friends and Fans,
After a grueling 6 months of international travel I am happy to say that I
will be back in the studio for the next month and a half working on what will
hopefully be my next release. I am very excited about the new music and
looking forward to sharing it with all of you! My next live show is in Studio City
at the legendary Baked Potato. This is a very cool little place that many amazing
musicians have performed in the past. I will be performing 2 shows the night of
June 28th. This will also be a special show since I will reunite with my long time
musician friend Arlan Schierbaum who will be adding Hammond Organ and
Electric Piano. I hope to see you there.
